September 9-13, 2020 at the Sheraton Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama

 



The National Rehabilitation Association (NRA) and the Alabama Rehabilitation Association (ARA) invite your participation in the 2020 Annual Training Conference, to be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Birmingham, AL.  Poster Presentations will take place on September 12th.


The theme of the 2020 NRA Annual Training Conference is “Past Fires Fueling the Future”
All interested individuals, facilities, agencies and organizations, including NRA members and non-members, are invited to submit proposals for poster presentations. The NRA Program Committee will review and select submissions that consider the proposals’ contributions to a well-balanced program of interest to the members of the NRA, who represent public and private rehabilitation agencies, community rehabilitation programs, hospitals, schools/universities, employers and other organizations serving the employment needs of individuals with disabilities.


All proposals will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on the following criteria areas :  

Overall quality

Relevance to the field of rehabilitation

Well-defined focus that can be presented in a Poster format (Only for Poster Presentation Submissions)

Practical application of idea presented

Originality and timeliness of idea


Notification of proposal inclusion will be provided to the primary presenter by March 1, 2020.

Ethics (Please note that your proposal must clearly identify the specific ethical codes that will be discussed/explored in the presentation).

Evidence-Based Practices

Forensic Rehabilitation / Expert Witness

Job Placement and Development

Leadership Development 

Policy/Legislative Update, Training, Education and/or Reform

Pre-Employment Training Services

Rehabilitation Partnerships / Collaborations

Rehabilitation Services for Disability Specific Populations (SSA, SMI, ID/DD. Etc.)

Transition Services

Veterans

Presentation Proposal Submission Format

Please provide all of the following information in a Microsoft Office Word document and email to Mary-Anne M. Joseph at joseph.mary.anne.m@gmail.com no later than 11:59pm EST on December 15, 2019.


Title of Presentation: 

The title of the presentation should not exceed 10 words.


Presentation Proposal Topic Area:

Please identify your proposal topic area from the list provided earlier in this document. 


Abstract: 

Please provide a summary of your presentation. The summary should not exceed 75 words. This summary of your presentation will also be used in the conference program guide if your proposal is selected for presentation.


Objectives:

Please provide 3-5 presentation objectives in behavioral terms (objectives may aim to identify the problem, define potential new approach and develop strategies to implement).
